Echoes of Accountability: Still Editing, and an E-reader Giveaway!

Good morning, Echolettes!
I just wrapped this morning’s editing session. And as I changed the label on Chapter 4 — a whopper of a chapter that took a few days to get through — from First Draft to Second Draft, I’m reminded how consistency is key, especially when you’ve only got a fairly short amount of time each day to devote to something. Every little bit adds up.
Here’s the progress I made this week on Desolation of the Damned, the third and final book in my Trilogy of the Damned series:
Sunday: I forewent working on Desolation to write a creative non-fiction piece that you'll have a chance to read in February's newsletter in a couple of weeks.
Monday: Finished editing Chapter 2.
Tuesday: Revised & edited Chapter 3.
Wednesday: Revised & edited about a third of Chapter 4.
Thursday: Continued Chapter 4. Added a few paragraphs calling back to events from Deliverance.
Friday: Finished Chapter 4.
My working background music this week: Josh Garrels
Beverages consumed: Coffee, Trader Joe’s Winter Wakeup, and Crio Bru. Not all at the same time.
At this pace, it should take two more weeks to get through these edits and catch up to where I left off writing. Then I’ll get into a rhythm of editing as I go. It’s a slower process, but I believe this way I’ll end up with a final, publishable draft much sooner than if I broke it all up into different stages.
Your turn! Leave a comment and share one cool thing from your week (it doesn’t actually have to be limited to just one). Something to share, something that happened to you, something you watched, read, heard, learned, etc. etc. etc. I’m not picky, as long as it’s not political and everyone is respectful and kind.

One Cool Thing
My cool thing to share this week is the chance to win a free Kindle Fire or Nook from My Book Cave!
