Weekly Update: Another Book Sale! And Alternatives to Amazon
Heidy ho, Darklings!
In case you missed it, this week I wrapped up Sleep, Dearie, Sleep, an experiment in epistolary gothic horror that I think turned out pretty well. If you’ve been waiting until it’s finished to binge the whole thing, here’s your chance.
Sleep, Dearie, Sleep: Start Here
Archie Craig is an ambitious young architect poised to make his mark on a new nation. Leaving a wife and child behind in Scotland to seek opportunity and fortune in the burgeoning United States, he has toiled away as an apprentice to one of the young country's most sought-after architects. Now A…
I’ll be following up Monday(ish) with a post-mortem discussing some of the history behind the tale, so keep an eye out for that soon.
In other news, I just sent off the sci-fi story I’ve been working on for the last two weeks to an anthology press for consideration. So stay tuned for either an announcement that it’s been accepted, or for your chance to read it here.
As I mentioned last week, I’ll be taking a brief hiatus from posting fiction in March. I realized the other day that, after a two-year dry spell of barely writing any fiction at all, in the last two months I’ve written two lengthy short stories and an entire novella, all while battling a series of illnesses. No wonder I’m feeling worn out.
So I’m going to take a bit of a rest and then get to work outlining the next season of Flesh and Blood. I’m aiming to launch Season 2 in April, depending on how things go with finishing up development on our property and getting moved over there. I’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime, don’t miss next week’s Read an Ebook sales event on Smashwords, where each of my titles will be 50% off from March 2 - 8!
Also, if the realization (not really news, since it’s pretty much always been this way) that you don’t actually own your Kindle books, but rather just a license to read them, has you boycotting Amazon, don’t forget that all of my books are published wide. You can click here to find all of the links where you can buy or check out my ebooks, and you can also order my paperbacks through your favorite local bookstore or request them at your local library.
That’s all the news this week, folks!
Until next time,
♥️ Jean
