Hello there!
Thanks for stopping by Through a Glass, Darkly! The About page can give you a high-level overview of who I am and what this publication is all about. Use this page to familiarize yourself with the site and find what you’re looking for.
Long Serial Fiction
The centerpiece of this publication is my ongoing serial Sons of God, beginning with the first season, Flesh and Blood. Season 2, Daughters of Men, is currently in progress and will launch sometime in midsummer of 2025. This series will remain free for its duration.
I have been serializing my previously published novels here. Currently, the first novel in my Dominion of the Damned trilogy, Desolation, is in progress and will remain free for about six months after its completion. Restless Spirits, the first book in my Spirits series, was published here last year and will soon be going behind a paywall.
I plan to publish subsequent books in both series here in the future, alternated with new fiction, both short and long.
Short Serial Fiction
Sleep, Dearie, Sleep is a free original novella-length serial written for this publication.
I’ve also serialized my previously published horror novellas here, including:
These will be going behind a paywall beginning May 1.
Standalone Fiction
I’ve published a number of short stories here, both new stories written for this publication and those previously published in my collection, Midnight Snacks. You can read them here for free.
Nonfiction
It’s not a regular feature (so far), but occasionally I write non-fiction articles, usually concerning the paranormal viewed through a Biblical lens and the theological implications of things that go bump in the night. Here’s what I’ve written so far:
I’ve also written exactly one movie review. I may do more, but I seldom go to the movies, so. Maybe not.
And if you go waaay back in my archive and poke around in this Substack’s previous life, you’ll find a couple of stabs I made at memoir-style creative nonfiction:
News & Updates
This publication is also the home to my weekly(ish) newsletter, where I mostly tell you what I’m working on, when books are on sale, and occasionally what I’m reading. These updates go out to all subscription tiers on Fridays (usually). If you want to see what you missed, you can read previous issues here.
