Weekly Update: Dominion Paperbacks are here! Cover Reveal, Books on Sale and Site Changes
Happy Friday!
It’s been a busy week at the Bauhaushold, and also here at TAGD. My husband and I both celebrated accomplishments this week — more on that below. Here’s a look at what you might have missed before we get into announcements:
On Monday I launched the TAGD debut of Desolation, the first book in my Dominion of the Damned series. The first four chapters are currently available to read, and the rest will get doled out on Mondays and Wednesdays over the next eight weeks. Read them here:
Desolation: Start Here
·Nursing student Hannah Jordan expected to spend spring break welcoming her new brother into the world. She didn't expect to deliver him herself in her family's backyard bunker as her mother lay dying from a bite wound while her neighbors tear each other to pieces outside. Newly orphaned with a baby to raise, Hannah only knows one thing for certain: all …
On Tuesday, my husband released a new electronica single, his first new track in many months. I created a new section to feature his music here on Substack (until he gets around to starting his own publication). Judging by the number of downloads, it’s gone over pretty well. If you missed it, you can listen here:

It’s Tuesday Tunes on Substack, and have I got a tune for you!
New Paperbacks and a Cover Reveal!
Yesterday, at long last, I completed the arduous task of reformatting and re-covering all of my Dominion paperbacks, hit publish and crossed them off my To Do list. I’m extremely pleased with how they’ve turned out. If you prefer physical books to e-books and have been wanting a set, these are the editions to get.
Though the new versions are already available to order, Amazon is being slow to update the front and back cover images, so if you’ll indulge me I’m going to share them here because they’re so pretty:
Now available on Amazon! Hopefully, coming soon to Bookshop.org and other retailers.
Book 2 Sale is Still On!
Speaking of Dominion, the ebook version of the second book in the series, Evolution, is still on sale for 99 cents, and will be throughout the month of April — and so is Kindred Spirits, the second of my Spirits series! KS can be read as a standalone, by the way, although it would definitely be enhanced by having read Restless Spirits first. Anyway, get them here from your favorite retailer.
What’s New at Through a Glass, Darkly
Spring is a season of growth and change. As the grass and leaves come to life and explode into a wall of green outside my window, some changes are coming to this website and publication, too.
I’ve added editorial and critiquing services to the site. It’s been a few years since I split my time between freelance writing and freelance editing, but with the writing side slowing down, I’m thrilled to have the time to dust off my editorial chops and get back to doing what I love — helping both aspiring and established authors make their books and stories the best they can be.
I’ve spruced up the home page. If you’re strictly on email, you might not even be aware that this publication has a home page, but it does, and it just got a mild makeover.
I’ve added a “Start here” page. If you’re new to this publication or you’re not sure what all it has to offer, here is your roadmap to the site and everything that’s published on it.
And last but far from least…I’ve turned on paid subscription tiers. Your free subscription won’t change — you’ll still get everything I publish here sent straight to your inbox, in full, and you’ll still have full access to comments and chat on public posts.
But starting May 1st, I’m going to be archiving Restless Spirits and my published novellas, including Terror at Lake Eucha, The Hag and The Witch in the Cellar. If you missed those, you have until May 1st to read them for free. Afterwards, they’ll only be available to paid subscribers.
A paid subscription costs $5/month, or $50/year. In addition to full access to the archives, which will only grow as I continue adding both original and previously published fiction to the site, paid subscribers will also get a 50% off coupon for an ebook of their choice from my Smashwords profile, and 10% off their first editing or critique order.
I’m also offering an “Esteemed Patron” tier for anyone who wants to become a founding member and support this publication’s growth. Benefits are the same as a regular paid tier, but you can choose what you want to pay annually (over $50/year) and you’ll get your choice of a free ebook download from Smashwords. And if you pay the full suggested price, you’ll get 10% off all of my editing services for as long as you’re subscribed.
Also, for a limited time, I’m offering Esteemed Patrons their choice of having me write them a bespoke flash fiction based off their story prompt, or making them a character in an upcoming work of fiction. I’m going to leave this option open for the first five takers.
Sound good?
That’s it for this week’s update! That was kind of a doozy, wasn’t it? Thanks for sticking with me, and be sure to watch your inbox for the next installment of Desolation on Monday.
